At Project 201, our mission is to empower the next generation through mentorship, sports, education, and real-world experiences. We are dedicated to helping youth unlock their full potential by providing safe spaces, strong role models, and creative outlets that build confidence, character, and community. Through our programs, we reach youth in schools, in the streets, and in the system—offering guidance, support, and opportunity to every young person who needs it.Project 201 is more than a program—it’s a movement to restore hope, rebuild families, and raise up future leaders.
Our story
Project 201 started with a mission to bring real mentorship and support to youth who need it most. Founded by Coach Kellz, the name "201" represents not just our area code, but our commitment to representing and uplifting our community. From the streets to the classroom to the field, we’re on a mission to change lives through love, structure, and opportunity. Our story is still being written, but every day, we invest in the next generation with heart, purpose, and real results.
MEET THE FOUNDER
SHAWN KELLY
Shawn Kelly, CEO and Founder of Project 201 Inc., brings a wealth of experience to empower individuals facing challenges.
With five years assisting special needs children at the Bayonne Board of Education, Shawn's compassion solidified his passion for aiding those in need. During a five-year tenure at Hudson County Corrections, he completed the police academy, honing discipline and insights into rehabilitation, further fueling his dedication to youth development.
As a Youth Development Specialist, Shawn focused on shaping young futures, youth suicide prevention, and mental health advocacy. His commitment to safety is evident through his water safety certification and completion of an ethics of trauma course, displaying sensitivity to emotional struggles.
With NFL experience, he gained insights into diverse spheres, showcasing his dedication to holistic athlete growth via a Junior Player Development DVD.
Shawn Kelly's journey stands as a testament to unwavering dedication. As Project 201 Inc.'s CEO, he continues his lifelong mission—uplifting individuals, fostering growth, and creating lasting positive societal impacts.
He is certified through ISSA for Personal Training and Strength and Conditioning Coaching and is also certified by the Rutgers Safety Coaches Clinic to work with youth in sports.
